This piece is a detailed recreation and parody of one of the most iconic Soviet propaganda posters ever created. It is based on the famous 1920 Russian Civil War recruitment poster “Have you volunteered?” (original Russian: “Ты записался добровольцем?”) by artist Dmitry Moor.

The artwork on the tile cleverly replaces the stern Red Army soldier from the original poster with a toy minifigure, who mimics the same powerful, finger-pointing pose. The minifigure is depicted wearing a red uniform and a pointed budenovka hat, which was a distinctive early Soviet military cap. The background shows factory smokestacks, similar to the original artwork.

The Russian text from the original poster is also faithfully reproduced:

• The question at the bottom, ЗАПИСАЛСЯ ДОБРОВОЛЬЦЕМ?, translates to “HAVE YOU VOLUNTEERED?”
